”Dream a little dream” is an age gap, professor x student, dark romantic suspense novel. I was excited to read this because it follows a side character (Aaron) from ”All Wrapped Up” and I’ve been eating dark romances up latley, but unfortunately this wasn’t for me.
My issues with this novel were that the romance between Aaron and Kenny (also that name for the professor gives me an irrational ick😭) faded into the background and the main focus became the suspense plot. The thriller parts of the book didn’t hook me enough to justify it.🥲
The story was promising a spicy time at the start of the novel, BUT THAT’S LITTERALLY THE ONLY SEX SCENE IN THIS BOOK. I litterally felt so edged the entire time reading this lmaooo😭. At first I was there for the slowburn of it all but then it just fizzled out into nothing satisfying. It was also so frustrating cause the little spice that was there and the sexual tension between them was so good!! The ending didn’t feel satisfying either.
It kinda turned me off when I discovered mid-way through that this was apart of a series and I realized the HEA/HFN wouldn’t really happen in this first book, but that’s also my fault for going mostly blind into books😭😭
I also wished Jayden made an appearance in the book, but since it’s a series maybe it will happen in the later installments.
I’ll continue reading more of C.F. White’s novels since I do really enjoy her writing, this was just a miss for me. I’m pretty sure I will not continue in the ”To Love a Pshyco” series, but never say never.🫣
Piers Ryman narrated the audiobook and it was a very pleasant experience!✨
Thank you GRR for providing me with the arc for the audiobook🫶
