I liked the overall story of the very real aftermath of an apocalyptic EMP strike on the U.S.
Shortcomings as I see them:
>the epic struggle of the 3 groups in the family sometimes dragged on too long.
>if I read, “that’s what you get after 40 years of marriage…” one more time…
>how does one person know what a complete stranger is thinking?
>in a chaotic, end of the world situation, how does one woman get to the front of the line just b/c she demands it?
>at least one character was a whiny, weak, pain in the neck for her mother and the reader.
You can see that the audiobook kept my interest enough that I finished it. But it could be a hundred pages shorter.
