I enjoyed reading this book (original ebook review below), so I was happy to listen to the audiobook. Piers Ryman did a good job bringing these characters and this story to life. I’ve listened to two other audiobooks he’d narrated- one about a jaded, down-on-his-luck actor, and another about an obsessed and possessive Russian man. Both very different-sounding, so I was happy to see how he’d voice these characters.

Original ebook review:

I really enjoyed this book, though it felt less like a romance than I thought it would, but it’s only the first in the trilogy. The storyline was mysterious and suspenseful, with underlying danger. I liked Aaron and Kenny- they intrigued me and I liked figuring out who they were. Neither are anywhere near what I would call normal, and it made them- and the dynamic between them- all the more interesting. They were like magnets that kept pulling together even if they pinged apart. Aaron was my favorite of the two. I was so sad for what he’s been through, and really can’t imagine what being in his position would feel like. I loved his personality and I found him quite fun at times. Kenny’s personality was completely different and he tended to psychoanalyze and obsess. Looking forward to book two. 4 stars.
