Rich and dark and vulnerable, Dream a Little Dream is everything I didn’t know I needed. Aaron and Dr Kenneth Lyons shouldn’t work but they absolutely do. Teacher/student (adult), these two have a passionate hookup before Dr Lyons knows that it’s his student, and once that is apparent boundaries are set – only to be tested again and again. Aaron is figuring himself out in the world and in relationship to his past – Dr Lyons is a profiler who worked on a case in which Aaron was a part during his childhood. His role as a profiler and educator really takes this book up another notch and the layers of complexity in the relationship between these two men…wow. It works not just because of this but because of Aaron’s complex layers which become more and more apparent. The audio narrative is so on point and this is one that really stuck with me – I immediately went to check out the rest in the series. Thankfully this is a completed series based on my research because – though this is the only one out in audio and I really am waiting on pins and needles for next in series. This hits on all levels of interesting and complex characters and character development, intriguing plot with some twists, great side characters that strengthen the overall work, and excellent writing (and narrating in the audible version) that make this an easy five star read for me
