Wow. I didn’t really have expectations going into this, other than hoping I’d like it based on how many high reviews it has. What a moving story. As an adoptee I found many of the themes relatable. What a unique and beautiful written piece. Themes of loss, grief, loving, guilt, estrangement, reunification, friendship, and a love for books were at the forefront. I may even consider finding people for my own correspondence.
