So I’ve rather enjoyed the series to this point, and it’s not like I hate it, but it started in the last book and has been amped up in this one. Much of the story is now taken up with romantic relationships and Practically Everyone is gay in some way. Hey people can like whatever they want but this holds zero interest for me, and is such an abrupt and jarring swerve that it feels a little contrived. At least put an LGBT tag on the book so people know what they are getting into.
Its not like I’m even objecting to any presence of this at all, but I sat this morning trying to think of a main or side character that wasn’t gay, and pretty much all I could come up with so far was Ryun having a one night stand with a gal. Until she went back to her asexual girlfriend. Honestly it’s so pervasive that it just feels like pandering.
