The epistolary style of this book was annoying in the extreme to me and it is especially bad for an audiobook format!! Every reader goes thru the extreme detail of date, hour, minute, address or worse email address!! Who ever decides how to do an audiobook from a book needs to reexamine “unabridged” with this format of book. It takes away from the enjoyment of the audiobook to have to hear this start of hundreds of paragraphs starting different letters or email!
Though I just did not like this book at all, I may have rated it a 3 star instead of 2 star if I had read the book and could easily skip over the letter or email headings. I had no empathy for the main character and listening to her boring, mundane life. Though we all think our own life is interesting and perhaps eventful or meaningful, I would not enjoy even reading something like this of my own life. I should have stopped listening to this after the first hour, but persevered to the end hoping it would get better. Though the last 10% was slightly more eventful and interesting, it was not worth the slog to get there.
