Just finished this. Heard the author on NPR and had it on my wish list at that point. Truly outstanding! In every respect. Narrators exactly chosen, story tightly written, perfectly paced, and uniquely presented of a waking life. Courageously written. A masterpiece even. What an opus!
I come from the Delmarva area and am intimately familiar with the setting – so beautifully portrayed. More to the point, I am of a certain age and this hit with a lot of force. I so wish I had read it when I was much younger and could have read it with my mother.
Can’t wait for Virginia Evans’ next book.
