MM Romance – Paranormal Romance – Medium/forensic pathologist & Police Inspector – Going on Vacation to a Haunted Hotel – Found Family – Location England – Same Couple Series – Really funny – Dual POV/1st POV – Great Narration

After a stressful period Tristan and Danny decide to go away on a romantic vacation. Just the two of them. No ghosts allowed. Of course the romantic hotel turns out to be haunted by a whole bunch of quirky ghosts and Tristan and Danny are soon caught up in all kinds of shenanigans, a murder mystery and the usual hilarious banter and snark. This book felt a bit slower, probably because it mainly takes place in one location. It still was really sweet and funny, on a snort-laugh level, and even some more serious matters were touched on. Joel Leslie’s narration was again a perfect match!

We finally got to know more about Danny’s past. He had never been very vocal about his life before he came to London, now he did both show and tell. I was so happy about how things turned out! And as the blurb already mentions the popping of a big question I don’t feel it spoils anything when I say that the question popping was the sweetest thing! 😍 As per usual, the way there wasn’t without bumps and detours but it sure was worth it!

“I can promise you that I’ll love you like no one else, I’ll protect you with my last breath and I’ll hold you up when the world tries to drive you to your knees. Because there is no me without you.”

Despite this happy occasion, case 4 ends on a cliffhanger that promises a rather sad start of the next book.

And a shout-out to this series book covers! I don’t know who the artist is but I really love these covers! I belong to the minority that dislikes all these MM romance covers with men with naked upper bodies looking straight (hehe) into the camera. I say minority because I have to be as these kind of covers seem to be the norm. Anyhow, I love everything about these Crawshanks Guide covers. I think they capture both the main characters and the gist of the story, they don’t feel cluttered, the color theme matches and the writing is readable. Five rainbow colored stars out of five!
