The Gate of The Feral Gods by Matt Dinniman is the fourth book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. This book was brutal and brilliant. The stakes keep getting higher with each book and we see the resistance start to become public.
The story picks up right where we left off in book three, Carl’s Anarchist Cookbook. And just like book three the action hooks you in right from the start. The world building continues to expand and be creative and detailed. The emotional toll continues to go up with each book and not just for the crawlers but for the MPC’s too.
I love the found family Carl and Donut are collecting. We are introduced to new characters and see some of our old favorites. The witty banter, humor, and twists and turns also kept me fully engaged. The Gate of the Feral God’s was a fantastic read and I can’t wait to continue on with the series. I give this book 5 stars.
