Characters. I love the characters and their connections and interactions. Now I know the “world” well enough I don’t need the explanatory prompts, And I’m into the overall story, especially that of Yvonne and Guyes. At first I was mystified by what if anything was between them, and a bit irritable with Yvonne tbh. But now I’m totally rooting for this couple. Her reticence makes more sense now than at first. Always better to have it shown and not told. Why maybe this book flowed/read better than previous ones. Had to be some explaining at first, I know, but now the characters are telling the story and it’s more compelling.
