This story was awesome and I love Joel Leslie as a narrator, he always does a great job. What was repeatedly distracting was that Sam is one of the most annoying main characters out of the whole series. He’s supposed to be so smart but he overlooks the most normal things like how to get to a hotel from an airport, so sneaky but gets caught immediately, etc. He is also completely self-centered when it comes to the relationship with the other MC. He’s so wrapped up in being the person who finds all the answers and the great discoverer that he can’t even wait an hour or two to make sure everyone is safe. iThe whole narrative is just all about his big Discovery, his big reveal, his pain, his savior complex, etc. It gets a little old after a while to just have to hear it chapter after chapter. All the dragons are awesome. The story is great but “listening” to Sam’s victim complex the entire book got a little old.
