The plot & story are excellent if you can accept the premise that brings it all together – although looking at the world today this book seems perfectly realistic even if twenty years ago it would have been seen as a ridiculous flight of fancy. The author’s other series lives in spectacle & heart, and as a stand alone novel grounded in a more “what we expect” future this book can’t compete in spectacle but it is still solid in heart and very much entertaining.
