Too much time was spent in the story’s setup

This story spent way too much time in setting up the universe. Too much time spent on the main character’s flaws. I found myself begging for the plot to take off and when it did, it was slow and dragged on in order to fit all of the other characters with it. By then, I was done. Interesting angle. Missed opportunity. Probably the AI’s fault. 😀
