Over the last few months, I kept seeing this recommended as I browsed for my next audiobook. I saw how high it was rated and scoffed in disbelief. It looked like such a goofy book, surely it could only be for hardcore D&D nerds. I passed it by time and time again, until a friend asked if I’d heard of it. I said I had and he went on and on about how good it was. I was so incredulous. But I decided to take the leap and try it, if so many were raving about it. Turns out they were right! I’m not even a fantasy or D&D guy and I absolutely loved it. Usually a series with 8+ books is intimidating and I question whether I’ll finish, but this one I know I’ll be eating up every book until the series is over.

The premise is unique, the story progresses at a pace that keeps it interesting, and the characters are amazing and funny as hell! I do have to say that the narrator’s cartoonish voice was a bit tough to get into at first, but you quickly get used to it and it feels like you couldn’t do it any other way.
