After seven books in the series, the author should have just quit. He added an eighth book that started out promising, but I don’t know if he ran out of words for the target word count or just got lazy; he ends the story with no payoff at all. After spending the entire book setting up an antagonist and an elaborate plot, he bails in the final chapter with a total cop-out ending.
To add insult to injury, the Audible version replaces narrator Joseph Morton with someone new for this final installment.
Reader/Listener, take my advice and stop after book seven of the Boston Brahmin series. This book will only leave a bad taste in your mouth.
