I’ll say I’m a big DCC fan and going into this had high expectations. The book started a little slower than I was expecting but once the main events kicked off, I had a great time. Dinniman does a great job of writing just loathsome villains and underdogs who’re easy to identify with. His worlds feel lived in and built out. I loved a lot of the heady sci fi concepts introduced and used in the book, especially at the end. Dinniman writes compelling mysteries in his books but better than that, he provides satisfying answers to those mysteries.
Baldree does a great job as narrator. His wide breath of voice work is commendable. All the characters feel very distinct and stay consistent throughout the story. The smaller parts that Hays has are also great. He fits in perfect to the select rolls he plays. Overall loved the story and performances.
