I’ll admit that my lack of enjoyment of this may have to do with current events. Truth is stranger than fiction, but I never thought a book featuring robot Presidents vs dinosaurs vs teddy bears would strike my funny bone wrong, as if realizing that all that robot insanity sadly made more sense than real life.
The comedy here relied on random and inane riffs thrown down along with robots uttering sex euphemisms and tainted kid-centric entertainment. Instead of the clever fun of book 1, all of the jokes landed wrong.
