The book isn’t bad, it just doesn’t stand out in my mind like the Dungeon Crawler Carl series does. It takes half the book to really get going. The first 1/3 of the book is very slow and I almost gave up but I powered through and really liked the last 2/3 of it. The performance is really good and adds to the humor of the writing and overall I was entertained by it even in the slow parts. The story is a little better than average but nothing ground breaking. I love DCC so maybe my expectations were too high going in.
