There are some fun characters and twists to this one, but the main difference between this and some others in the genre is there is a lot of relationship drama, both romantic and familial, and there aren’t really “prepper tips” like some of these have. There’s a high body count though and action to break it up. My main gripe is inconsistency with the characters. They’ll have a situation in which they dramatically “get with the times” and realize it’s a wrol situation and they need to be ready to fight, then they’ll go right back to “warning shots” or “maybe it was self-defense” when the guards get murdered. Frustrating, but not bad enough that I didn’t stick with the story, and I have a lot of series in the genre that are worse. I think the set is worth a credit if you like long listening times.
