Rating: 5/5 – I will definitely reread this book. I already have.
🌶️: 1/5 – there are a few to a handful of hot and heavy scenes but they’re mostly fade to black and only semi-expliciy

TLDR: This is one of the best books for walking a mile in another person’s shoes.

This is my second or third read of this book and I forgot how good it was. Just read it is all I can say. It’s absolutely worth it. It’s the best bisexual awakening and the best bisexual representation that I have ever read. Not to mention that it really helps you feel and live the experience of a gay person in history. A history which isn’t as far away as we think. My grandma was in her prime during the late 1950s. There are people alive today who lived through this and the impact of this era echoes in queer culture today. Cat Sebastian tells their story in such a beautiful way that is so easy to identify with. Anybody who has ever questioned why we need pride needs a copy of this book.

The audiobook performance is perfection. This was the first audiobook I ever listened to by Joel Leslie and I’ve been hooked ever since. Something about his voice REALLY fits the 1950s. You’re gonna love it. Promise!

Ultimately, I’d recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I think everyone should read this book.
