I forget how disturbing or violent his books can be sometimes, a lot of it tends to be hidden by comedy or is so violent it’s just beyond comprehension, but then you have something like the field scene near the start of the book that genuinely invokes anger and disgust and then I remember who the author is. Genuinely talented man but dang if he isn’t a little mentally messed up
