I loved jumping back into this book! It was the first book that I read by Jennifer Peel and has led me down a wonderful path of reading her books over the years! Whenever she has a new one I am sooooo excited! I loved the banter between Kelli and Ian! I still felt all of the feels from the heartbreak of their goodbye and the unknowns of that, to the joy of that first kiss, and all the in between of realizing Ian is her new boss!!! Eeeekkk!!! It was like sitting down with a dear friend and catching up and reliving the good memories!
Stefanie Kay did a fantastic job again! I’m definitely a fan of her narrating books. It’s that same feeling of hanging out with a dear friend when I hear her voice narrating a favorite book! I’ve spent many hours listening to her bring characters and their stories to life! And I can’t wait to listen to more by her and Jennifer Peel!!!

I loved this cute, second chance, contemporary romance. Definitely lots of heartache and healing throughout but I loved the characters, the plot was fun and witty. I’ve found a new author that I am excited to read more of her books.
Kelli loves Ian! <3 They met at college and she knows what she wants and she isn't afraid to go for it. After finally wearing Ian down, they start dating. Life is great and wonderful until…Kelli says the three little words. I LOVE YOU!!! Ian takes off and Kelli is heartbroken.
Flash forward 13 or so years later and Kelli is a very smart, beautiful and successful Marketing manager and very hopeful that she will soon be getting promoted as Marketing Director of the company she works for. Everything is beautiful and wonderful and going as planned until…she walks in to work early and Ian is there. ?????? Why is he there and how should she react? Life goes spiraling out of control and all the emotions she thought she’d tucked away or worked through come pouring back into her heart and mind. How is she going to ever survive her life now that everything is topsy turvy with Ian around? Not only that but her Boss and longtime family friend is retiring and turning the company over to Ian as Marketing Director. Not only did she not get the promotion, but Kelli will be forced to work under the man she loved with all her soul and the same man who disappeared without a trace when she declared her love.
This was such a fun story. I loved the back and forth between Kelli and Ian. There were times that Ian drove me crazy with his reasons/excuses but overall I totally understood why he insisted upon them. It gave a good amount of angst and turmoil throughout the book and definitely made it sweeter when the big reveal/resolve came at the end of the story.
The writing was wonderful. I was drawn right into the story and felt as if I was completely immersed in every aspect of the plot and characters lives. Jennifer Peel has become a favorite author in just the first time reading of one of her books. I was so amazed at how much I enjoyed every aspect of the book. I finished it and wanted to open it up right away again and read and read and read, as well as grab her other books and do the same thing.
If you were like me and have never read a Jennifer Peel book, don’t wait any longer, grab one, grab this one, and let yourself be immersed in the fun and witty characters, the sweet and swoony romance and the overall enjoyment of reading one of her novels.
Content wise it was clean. Some sweet kisses and some memories of lots of kisses. No swearing that I remember and nothing past the kisses.
