I’m fully obsessed with this series, but this one was a slog to get through. All the overly complicated logistics and portals and station numbers and mob mechanics were just too much, and it felt like they didn’t even add that much to the overall story. All that exposition about the mirrored underside and we never really even got to explore it? It was impossible to form any kind of cohesive image in my head of the world on this level, and from one moment to the next I had no idea what was happening or where we were. It felt like it was complicated just for the sake of being complicated.

That being said, the character development is what I know we’re all here for, and this book brought it in spades! I gotta say, I was not too optimistic about Katia as a character when she was first introduced, but she’s really starting to come into her own by the end. Also I LOVE what he’s doing with the NPC narratives.

Very excited to see what’s next, but kinda relieved this one’s over 😅
