Listened out of desperation and somehow made it through five books. It’s frustrating having a main character who’s such a loser—falling for every trick and walking straight into every trap. He has no real skills, except not feeling bad about killing people. I’m not expecting a superhero, but an alcoholic, pot-smoking loser wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. Same goes for his friends. Honestly, they should have just bitten the bullet ten minutes in and spared everyone the agony.
