The letters on every subject but one were extremely well articulated. Sybil was a powerhouse in so many ways, but in the end, she was unable or unwilling or saw no reason to articulate the horrendous guilt she lived with for so many years. Her fall into speechlessness was heartbreaking to me but understandable. Guilt wracks a body, I think, even more than cancer. Maybe this protagonist knew that, and maybe that’s why I find her so true to the human experience. Just wish I could cry with her or hug her. So much to think about in all her interactions with the people to whom she wrote. Very well spun throughout.
