If you like really adorable modern meet cutes, Cara Bastone is your girl. Her leads have great banter, the premise of how they meet and why they should keep talking is always interesting, and Audible continues to find varied great voice actors to sell each unique pairing. In this novel, an English teacher and a gym coach pair up, and Bastone finds ways to play to the character’s strengths. You’ll hear poetry quoted that makes you feel alive and be reminded of how determination and perseverance can mold a person’s character. There’s also a love of giving back to students woven through. For a shorter novel, this book has A LOT of heart. You won’t be disappointed giving any of her books a try.
