If you’re looking for a book that keeps you on your toes from the very first page to the very last line, Love, Mom by Iliana Xander absolutely delivers. This story is crazy in the BEST way possible. Just when you think you have even the smallest idea of what’s happening… surprise! Another twist shows up and completely changes everything.
The story starts with the mysterious letters, and I truly thought I had the direction of the plot figured out. I assumed I knew how it would all play out. But wow!!! I could not have been more wrong. Every time I started piecing things together and felt like I was finally playing detective and getting somewhere, the story would shift perspectives, revealing new pieces of the past and adding layers I never saw coming. The pacing is incredible because right when you think you’re onto something… BAM!!!! a new chapter, a new viewpoint, and suddenly everything you thought you knew changes. The twists don’t just happen once or twice either. They keep coming all the way through the book, revealing secrets from the past that completely reshape the story. The characters are also placed so strategically throughout the story. Each one serves a purpose, and as their connections slowly unfold, you realize how carefully everything was crafted.
And the ending? Even the final chapter shocked me. It wraps up a piece of the story that had been mentioned but never fully explained, and the way it turned out was something I never expected.But honestly… we need to talk about the epilogue. I have never experienced anything like it. We never get a chapter from this character’s perspective during the entire book, and then suddenly the epilogue hits—and I was flying through the pages because I could not believe what I was reading. It added one final jaw-dropping moment that made the entire story even better. Unreal!!! One of the BEST books I have ever read!!!
This book is packed with twists, clever storytelling, and nonstop surprises.
