This is obviously a very difficult subject matter to write about and I am by no means an expert in the field. One thing that I observed, however was the fact that the authors lay out a very complete description of how an artificial super intelligence would be alien from our human intelligence. Then, they go on to explain using human logic and intelligence how such an AI could go about destroying us – which completely ignores the entire premise of the first half of the book. This is obviously an impossible chicken and egg situation because you can only write a book from the perspective of human intelligence even though you’re trying to write from the perspective of a super intelligence.
I think it is an important book and everyone with any kind of real power to regulate or develop in this industry should take the time to read it as it is a quick read (or listen).
