This is audible, so I’m sure there is someone that purchased this story and gave it a very negative review. But honestly, I don’t see how anyone that believes they might be interested in a ‘LitRPG/Gamelit’ novel wouldn’t enjoy this story or the audio-book. The characters are interesting and show real development as the story progresses. The world-building is detailed and original … as is the background premise that creates the ‘Game’ this type of story requires. I’m already into book 3 of the series and trying to balance desire to quickly get to the next exciting part of the novel and going slow enough to pick up on the rich details of the storytelling. There are a great many pop culture references that might not age as well, but they enrich the reader’s (listener’s) experience as far as I am concerned. Jeff Hays does a wonderful job with the narration. Highly recommended!
