Each of the characters are perfectly flawed with distinct personalities. Probably the most practical, high fantasy novel I’ve ever read. The story was almost too grounded. The characters didn’t experience the triumphs that I hoped for as a reader, but the story’s themes of love and loss are very well-rounded.
