I just couldn’t engage with the characters, and I saw the plot coming from a mile away.

Folks i’m not basing my experience here on DCC. i listened to a lot of books by the same authors… i never judge or compare their next venture based on what they did in the past.

I struggled connecting with the main characters. IMHO, the plot was telegraphed a little too much. I could see the antagonist’s plan within the first five or six chapters. Along with the plans inside the plans. I’ll try it again in a couple of years, i’ve had a couple of books that it may be my frame of mind while trying to read wasn’t “right”, and coming back to revisit them later, I was in a better place to read it ,but as of now, I can’t really recommend it.
