There is no weight to anything in the story because people can die and respawn with really no setback. This colors every interaction and removes any suspense. The dialogue feels unnatural in timing and phrasing. It is hard to explain, but I’d imagine it’d be similar to listening 12 year old boys play D&D. I have never dropped a book partway through (early chapter of book 2 of the 3 included), but I just can’t stomach it anymore.

soundbooth did a good job, and they seemed to do a lot more work in these books than what I’ve heard before (seemed to always be first and last chapters of books).

For context I’ve listened to:
Dungeon Crawler Carl -great
Chrysalis -good
Primal Hunter -great
Magical Girl -mid
Everybody Loves Large Chests -good
He Who Fights With Monsters -good
Mage Tank -good
1% Life Steal -good
