SPOILER WARNING. The guy has done nothing but protect her has screamed with his actions that he loves her even kissed her and she likes him to but makes every excuse instead of accepting it looks for reasons to hate him deosnt trust him after a lot of stuff accuses him and sees the worst in everything. thinks good people are monsters and sees the vampires as animals but with him being the one exception. instead of trusting him who has definitely earned her trust listens to what others say instead of believing in him and takes everything as justification for hating them. The main character has extreme trust issues but the bad thing is she literally will believe people that have proven to be cruel and betrayed her in the past over the vampire guy who has done everything to make her feel safe. Hes was better but he still has his flaws he deosnt communicate well with her because hes scared she will leave at the drop of a hat. which is understandable considering how she acts. but this creates more distrust with her because she feels betrayed hes keeping things from her but he has shared some things about his past but she hasn’t shared anything at all hes given his trust but she hasn’t in return. its give and take and all she deos is take. towards the end she finally thinks of him before herself but then he sacrifices himself to save her and when she wakes up shes happy about it because shes mad at him and is plotting how to kill everyone in his kingdom because ” they are just evil monsters. I really dislike the main character literally the whole book is like this. she is proven wrong at every turn but instead of learning from her mistakes even the tiniest bit she just stays this hateful woman that is so delusional and wants something to hate plus you think its because a vampire killed her mom thats why shes biased but she says herself that a human killed her mother but she actually trust that guy over the love interest. pretty sure the human used the vampire as a weapon but dont know because never clarified . she is just this hate filled woman that takes from others and never gives. definitely wouldnt recommend if your looking for a nice romance book. voice acting was the only good thing about this book.
