This dark and heartbreaking story was so intense, emotional and a little twisted. There are possible triggers that the reader should be aware of before delving into the story. The story is about Aria and Gio (Giovanni). He is being groomed to be the head of the family and runs the Bordello family brothel and deals with other family business. He is intense, serious and all business. Because of what happened to his grandmother he refuses to marry or get serious about any women. After finding out one of his girls has been brutalized, he has a run in with a politician that hurt her. The politician also owes them money. Giovanni bans him from returning to his club and wants repayment of the debt owed. He goes to collect and finds the politicians’ step daughter being brutalized, beaten, assaulted and being held prisoner in the guys basement. Gio takes her, he wants to protect her, keep her safe and keep her for himself. Aria, has been put through hell and back. She is a fighter and stronger than she imagine, especially after what she has endured. The journey these two go through is riddled with obstacles and tragedy but a fierce love grows between them. He finally has to set her free so that he can protect her. Such an incredible and heart warming story. The narration of this story was beautifully done.
