Gio and Aria’s story captivated me from the beginning. Aria has basically endured a form of torture (definitely see trigger warnings because even though I read and listen to stories that touch on these atrocities all the time, this hit me harder), and Gio becomes a guardian angel for her. And even though he tries to keep from falling for her to protect her even more, the heart wants what it wants…. Gio being from a mob family creates some serious obstacles and heart break on top of all the insane secrets revealed from Aria’s past. Emotions bled through so well at times-props to the narrators for such a terrific job. The road was incredibly bumpy, but these two find a beautiful happy ending that made me smile as it was painted in my mind’s eye.
