Luca and Verona start out as childhood friends, but family disputes put them at odds and ruins their friendship. When both of the patriarchs of the families pass, they have it written in their wills that the two of them are to marry one another. Luca hates Verona and she is upset because she doesn’t know him and all she remembers of him is how hateful he was when they were younger. Their love stories wind up being quite wonderful, but the mafia world and those around them seem to be on a mission to tear them apart. Will they be able to salvage the interruption of others or will they wind up apart? Must read to find out. This is book 1 in the series, but the next two will be about their children, which is just as exciting!

The story is not as dark romance, as it is just enemies to lovers who wind up together. The narrators did a wonderful job adding some spunk to their characters and I have learned that I love almost anything Cecily narrates. Vincent was a wonderful Luca as well, would love to hear more of his narrations.
