Between the love triangle, Ness’s cousin’s betrayal, dealing with “her” pack dynamics, and the new pack encroaching on their lands, Ness is in turmoil. She mentally wants Liam, but her body craves life-long friend August. I couldn’t stand the way Liam treated her, and was team August right off the bat, though I wish she’d been sooner! I love that Ness is a strong survivor, is loyal, and not afraid to be friends “with a Pine” no matter what everyone else thinks.
The Creeks coming in and causing trouble, and the heartwrenching decision Ness had to make at the end, thanks to an ultimatum, frustrated the hell out of me! Olivia Wildenstein, August & Ness belong together… this is NOT ok! I need book 3!
I listened to this and thought the narrator did a good job raising the emotions, angst, tension, and danger throughout the book.
