I loved the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks and was hoping for more of the same by the same author. I listened to most of the book and had about 2 hours left before I quit. I quit because I just couldn’t care about the characters or what was happening. I think this is due to the fact all the characters were essentially passive throughout the story. Their AI drone is the main one fighting and strategizing with our human characters along for the ride. The humans’ actions seem largely irrelevant to the drive of the story. I really wanted to like it but found myself grinding it out until I gave out.
