A good friend recommended this book to me and I was most pleasantly surprised. The storytelling was great, but for me it was the performance by Jeff Hays and the production from the team at Soundcloud that elevated the story to an epic adventure. In a way I am glad that I was a little late to discover this book for it let me binge multiple books and dive in to the story. I loved the snarky one liners and pop culture references that are woven through the story and must admit that from time to time I was hearing the A.I. in my head screaming “NEW ACHIEVEMENT!!” as I completed some random mundane task in my daily life.
The book made my commutes so enjoyable and more than once I found my self sitting in a parking lot or my driveway waiting to finish a chapter. So looking forward to the continuation of this story and hopeful that it may one day come alive even further in animated or live action form.
