I have mixed reactions to this book. It was my first reading experience with Shemer Kuznits, and while LITRPG is not my favorite genre and I’m not a gamer, I found the series on Audible on sale and decided to give it a try. It was a rainy weekend, and I did not have anything else to do.
The writing was okay, but there were many immature clichés and stupid dialogue sections that I found off-putting. The introduction of sex detracted from the read. There were some interesting concepts, and Jeff Hays’ narration was excellent, which really helped keep me engaged and masked some of the cheesy writing and dialogue.
At normal speed, Life Reset runs for almost 25 hours. I was required to bump the speed up to 1.15 to remain engaged. Ultimately, I think this book desperately needed a good editor, and I’m not sure I would have finished it or continued the series if they weren’t on sale. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3 because of the solid narration.
