I’ve listened to quiet a few LitRPGs over the last year and I can easily say this is by far the best. I was introduced to the genre by a coworker and some of his recommendations which was great, however, this one wasn’t highly recommended by him.
Going against his recommendation I listened to this anyways and I’m glad I did. I’ve listened to all the books twice now and plan on getting the hardcovers as well. It’s the only audio book I’ve revisited ever, it’s that good.
Carl, Donut, Mordecai and the rest of the characters are so well written and developed you really feel a connection with them. It is funny, sarcastic, gory, dramatic and heartbreaking. The whole series will have you on edge and craving more.
I can not recommend this series enough to veteran readers of LitRPG or first timers. Please do yourself a favor and get this book as well as the rest of the series.
