I absolutely loved books 1-6. I found them all to be fantastic. This one has to spend so much time trying to give you overview of large groups of people/armies/things that it ends up losing a bit of the heart, character moments between Carl and Donut. I didn’t hate this book but it was by far my least favorite in the series and I hope book 8 will circle back to what makes the books great.
