Enjoyable book about the rise and decline of the car.

This book covers the whole history of the car up to the early days of electric (Tesla Model S). Frankly, I enjoyed it. It is obvious the author is a fan of the car as he carefully rolls out the various eras and trends of the automobile. He ends on a nostalgic note, reveling in the joys of self driving, but also with a warning that decisions made now, both by governments and corporations, will have the most impact on transportation and the role that the individual plays in our own mobility.
