Overall, thoroughly enjoyed the story. Books like this are the reason I usually wait for more titles to the published before starting a series (in a good way), end I eagely await the next step on Elise’s journey. Soundbooth always does a fantastic job with their performances, and this is no exception.
There are few emotional ups and downs, especially if you connect with the characters, and the rpg elements are nicely integrated in a way that doesn’t feel shoe-horned or overly ‘game-y.’
– A minor, and likely personal, gripe about the number of times that “got” was used where another word would serve better, but it doesn’t detract from the rest of the book.
