Now I am sad. I wasn’t ready to part ways with Dimitri, Dagon and Lucky. Not only that but I am NOT ready to let either of them go. I hope we will see more of them in the next series in this universe… otherwise I will throw hands.

With that being said, THIS IS HOW YOU END A SERIES. Like this… just like this. Not only did we get the story of this holy triad, but we also got to spend a lot of time with the other characters from the series. Lark Taylor sure knows how to balance that without feeling like you’re missing something. I didn’t feel like we didn’t get enough of these 3’s love story AND I didn’t feel like the others took too much time either. As I said… perfectly balanced.

I am not going to lie, I was a bit weary of how this will go. Poly relationships are my fav along with the fated mates trope and found family, and I was scared that given all the history Dimitri and Dagon share Lucky will feel like an intruder. He isn’t. NOT EVEN FOR A SECOND. Not only that, but I didn’t feel like he took anything away from the other two’s bond. I think Lucky was ( I’m gonna use this word again, sorry ) the balance they needed, but more than that I think he was the thing that enhanced what they shared throughout centuries as well. He brought to the surface issues Dagon and Dima struggled with and made both of them not only properly communicate, but also accept and let go.

The fated mates trope seems to be something that confuses a lot of people… usually fated mates is insta love. It is supposed to be like this… so, yeah, these three took to each other quite quickly and I was here for it.

I LOVED how we had Dima’s and Dagon’s history intertwine with the new love/life they were sharing/starting with Lucky. I LOVE Lucky for cherishing that love and respect it. Those two m0rons were not necessarily an established couple, but they also were. The way they loved each other was so fierce and so all-consuming that it made my heart ache sometimes. I can’t even imagine the hurt they must’ve gone through all these centuries until they finally got to fulfill their greatest wish.

Dagon is a charismatic character that you just get to know and love from book one, and there is no way to not fall in love with, but Dimitri? Oh, Dimitri stole my heart from the first moment. The way he showed up for Dagon over and over and over again in each book was just the icing on the cake. I melted every single time. EVERY SINGLE TIME. No time, no matter how great the distance, HE ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS showed up for Dagon and I think this is why this books dynamic worked so well. We got to see them before Lucky, meet them, see how they reacted to each other, see their love ( even if they were glimpses ) so when we finally got to this story I was ready to add Lucky to the mix.

Luck of the Devil was ironically the first Lark Taylor book I got to add to my tbr, yet I started the universe read with Finlay… this is such a me thing that atp I ain’t even gonna question it anymore, however, I am h3llbent on reading all these books in order from now on just so I can get the full experience. I know each book in each individual series ( and this universe for that matter ) can be read as a standalone, but if you really want to get all the feelings and live the full experience I suggest you start from the beginning since we get to meet these characters ahead of their own books and we get more context.

I am sad to let them go, as I said in the beginning, but no worries, I will come back, The Reckless Damned has officially made it to my list of comfort re-reads.

This book was not only very well written, but the dynamic was spot on, all the characters are amazing, and the plot was also plotting hard-core. Each book in the series has its own plot, sort to speak, but actually if you read all the books you realize that the plot is more of a series overarching one and this book is the conclusion to that. Hence, me suggesting reading the books in order. You don’t want to miss anything. Not to mention that ALL the couples are AWESOME and getting to know each of them is phenomenal. Harlow, baby, my dramatic queen, I love you. You are and always will be my fav from this series, but hold tight to that crown cuz River is coming for you. Dimitri is my fav man tho’… I’LL NEVER MOVE ON FROM HOW HE SHOWED UP EVERY SINGLE TIME for his soul, Dagon. NEVER.

Ok, this is a bit much now and it is getting out of hands. In conclusion, read the whole series from the beginning and enjoy falling in love with this universe and amazing characters. Ok, bye.
