This book is as bats*it crazy as all the other DCC books…but on meth. You have a cat with sunglasses holding a rave while on top of a fortified medieval tower while sniping enemies with magic missles from her eyes…you have gods on this floor (one is a giant schlong and another is the god that schlong came from)…etc. what is crazy is that Dinniman makes it work with great character development and a deep poignant understanding of personal trauma. It is such a great listen. This series is so much fun and bingeable. I started with the first DCC book 3 weeks ago and haven’t stopped till I reached the end of this book.
Also, enough cannot be said about the narrator Jeff Hayes. He made this book come alive in a way that made it distinctly better than I could in my own head. Because of this, DCC books are much better as Audiobooks rather than as traditional reading.
