Rick R. Reed writes a horror story with exactly the right amount of horror in it for me. Jealous of the Clouds is super creepy and so well written… and the tension stays at a tip top level through the whole thing. Gah, everyone’s nightmare to be followed like that, and manipulated, and being unable to shake a bad mistake. Horrifying.
I always enjoy the way Reed incorporates the people and places of Chicago – one of my favorite cities. So well done.
The audio version of Jealous of the Clouds is absolutely beautifully performed by David Allen Vargo. I adored how they’ve produced this one with sound effects *chilling*. The best way to enjoy this novel is in the audio version, in my humble opinion.
