This was my first exposure to the Dane Maddox series and it was pretty good. It’s a lighthearted adventure, akin to Indiana Jones. By lighthearted, I don’t mean to say there weren’t serious moments of danger or action. I mean that the characters don’t have a lot of depth to them and the story feels rather formulaic. It doesn’t suck, but it’s not earth-shattering either. Kafer’s narration was dependable, as always. Recommended for anyone who enjoys adventure-type novels.
