I struggled slightly with the letter writing style in the beginning, but settled into it eventually. There were parts of the story that were touching and enjoyable, primarily Mr Lubik’s character. I also was moved by her wrestling through the loss she had endured and especially her part in causing it, along with the guilt she carried. However, I found the author’s obvious agenda to include fringe minority characters and make political lectures insufferable. The ending came a bit abruptly, and I realized, there was never really a crisis or climax, as plots are meant to have. I didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.
